Bus carrying 25 passengers overturns near Jhandewalan Metro Station in Delhi’s Karol Bagh; 2 dead, several injured, probe underway.

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A major road accident occurred in Delhi’s Karol Bagh area when a bus carrying around 25 passengers suddenly overturned near Jhandewalan Metro Station. Two people lost their lives in the incident, while several others were injured. The injured have been admitted to different hospitals for treatment.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident took place around 1:30 am. The bus was reportedly moving at high speed, estimated between 80 to 100 km/h. After losing balance, the bus overturned one or two times. Locals said the हादसा happened so suddenly that passengers had no time to react.
An eyewitness said that after the bus overturned, there was chaos and cries all around. Many passengers, including women and children, were trapped inside. A small child got stuck between the seats, while a woman was also severely trapped. People present at the spot immediately started rescue efforts, and around 100–150 locals worked together to stabilize the bus and pull out the injured.
According to locals, it took nearly 30 minutes to an hour to rescue all passengers. Many victims were bleeding and in severe pain, and around 8–10 people were reported to be seriously injured. One person said he personally rescued a young girl, while another child aged around 5–6 years was pulled out after much effort.
After receiving information, police, PCR vans, and fire brigade teams rushed to the spot. The injured were taken to hospitals by ambulance, with several shifted to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital.
Initial investigation suggests driver negligence as a possible cause. Some eyewitnesses claimed the driver might have dozed off, leading to the bus going out of control. Police have started an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
