Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): A horrific road accident occurred on the outskirts of Pune, Maharashtra, late Thursday night. A car was completely crushed between two large container trucks on the Navale Bridge section of the Mumbai–Bengaluru Highway, resulting in the tragic deaths of eight people and injuries to 8–10 others. The impact was so severe that both trucks and the car caught fire within minutes.

Upon receiving the alert, multiple fire tenders rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames after an intense effort. Unfortunately, all eight occupants trapped inside the car were charred to death before they could be rescued. The incident caused a massive traffic jam on the busy highway, disrupting movement for several hours.

A viral video from the accident site shows the car engulfed in flames, sandwiched tightly between two blazing container trucks. A senior police officer confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the crash. Meanwhile, the truck driver has been detained for questioning, and the injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
