Hardoi (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has come to light from Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh, where two severely mutilated bodies were found on a railway track on Thursday. The bodies were discovered near the Khadra railway crossing under Kotwali Dehat police station area, creating panic in the locality.

Due to the condition of the bodies, it is suspected that both victims were run over by a train. The deceased include one young man and one young woman, believed to be around 22 and 25 years of age. Their identities have not been established so far.

After receiving information, Kotwali Dehat police reached the spot and took custody of the bodies found near railway pillar number 1173. The police inspected the site in detail and questioned local residents. Considering the seriousness of the case, City CO Ankit Mishra and Additional Superintendent of Police (Western) Martand Prakash Singh also arrived at the scene and issued necessary instructions.

ASP Martand Prakash Singh said that police were immediately dispatched after receiving information about two bodies lying on the railway track. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem after completing legal formalities.

He added that efforts are underway to identify the deceased by informing nearby police stations and checking missing persons records. The police are investigating whether the incident was an accident, suicide, or involved some other cause. The exact reason for death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report. Further legal action is being taken as per procedure.
