New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): In a major step toward enhancing urban cleanliness and improving air quality, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) today carried out an extensive dust-control and special cleanliness drive across prominent residential colonies and strategic road networks in the NDMC area.

The coordinated operation witnessed the active participation of all three core departments of NDMC like Public Health (Sanitation), Horticulture, and Civil Engineering to ensuring a comprehensive and impactful execution.

As part of this initiative, NDMC teams undertook mechanised sweeping, silt removal from side channels, essential repair work, and maintenance of green areas using blowers. These integrated measures are aimed at significantly minimising dust-related pollution and elevating the overall environmental quality of the neighbourhoods.

The special drive covered major residential colonies including Kaka Nagar, West Kidwai Nagar, Jor Bagh, CPH Colony, and the Officers’ Quarters along Shahjahan Road.

In addition, focussed cleaning was carried out across multiple Circle areas to ensure thorough upkeep of roads, surroundings, and public spaces. The operation spanned the following locations: Kaka Nagar (surroundings of Library), West Kidwai Nagar, CPH Quarters, A & B Bungalows, Shahjahan Road, A & B Block, Connaught Place, KG Marg up to Tolstoy Marg, Barakhamba Road up to Tolstoy Marg, Maulana Azad Road (Akbar Road to Janpath) , Jor Bagh Colony, G Avenue Road, and Dividing road of both complexes of Central Government Employees Colony, B.K.S. Marg.

NDMC's sustained focus on dust mitigation, sanitation, and horticulture upkeep reflects its commitment to creating a cleaner, greener, and healthier urban environment. The council continues to intensify such drives to ensure improved living conditions and enhanced public well-being for residents and visitors alike.
