Vrindavan (The Uttam Hindu): President Droupadi Murmu, currently on a three-day visit to Uttar Pradesh, reached Vrindavan on Friday where she met renowned spiritual leader Sant Premanand Maharaj at Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj Ashram.

The meeting, held under tight security, focused on discussions around spirituality, service and public welfare.

Warm welcome at the Ashram

Upon her arrival at the Ashram, the President was accorded a traditional welcome by devotees and followers of Premanand Maharaj. She spent time at the premises, sought blessings and interacted with the saint on various aspects of spiritual guidance and social service.

During the interaction, President Murmu highlighted the role of spiritual leaders in promoting ethical values and contributing to the betterment of society. Both sides exchanged views on ways to strengthen public welfare initiatives.

Visit to Vatsalya Gram

As part of her visit, the President is also scheduled to visit Vatsalya Gram, an institution established by Sadhvi Ritambhara. The organization is known for caring for orphans and elderly people. She will review its activities and interact with residents.

Spiritual itinerary continues

On the final day of her visit, March 21, the President will offer prayers at the Danghati Temple in Govardhan and undertake the traditional seven-kilometre Govardhan Parikrama before returning to New Delhi.

Earlier, on March 19, she visited the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, where she participated in the installation of the ‘Shri Ram Yantra’ on the second floor of the temple, marking a significant milestone in the completion of the temple construction.

She also visited the ISKCON Temple in Mathura on Thursday evening, where she offered prayers and participated in the evening aarti.
