Kanpur (Bithoor) (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic incident has come to light from a private hospital in the Bithoor area of Kanpur, where a newborn baby died allegedly due to negligence by a nurse. According to allegations, after birth, the baby was placed in a warmer machine, but due to negligence, the temperature rose beyond the required limit, causing the newborn to suffer severe burn injuries. The infant later died during treatment.

According to family members, the woman had recently delivered a baby at the hospital. Soon after birth, the nurse placed the newborn in the warmer machine. After some time, the baby’s condition started deteriorating, and burn marks appeared on the body. The family immediately informed the hospital staff, but alleged that proper treatment was not provided on time, which proved fatal.

As soon as news of the infant’s death spread, angry relatives staged a protest outside the hospital, accusing the nurse and hospital management of gross negligence. The family claimed that the baby’s life could have been saved if the warmer machine had been handled correctly.

On receiving information, police reached the spot, controlled the situation, and initiated an investigation. The health department has also been informed about the incident.

Police officials stated that the matter is being investigated based on the family’s complaint. Hospital staff are being questioned, and the warmer machine and other medical equipment will also be examined. Further action will be taken after the investigation report is received.
