New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan is set to begin a new chapter in his personal life, as wedding bells are about to ring once again at his home. Popularly known as “Gabbar,” Dhawan is reportedly preparing to marry his girlfriend, Irish model Sophie Shine. The couple has been in a relationship for a long time.

According to reports, the wedding is likely to take place in February. The wedding ceremonies are expected to be held in the third week of February in the Delhi-NCR region. Several well-known personalities from the cricketing world and Bollywood are likely to attend the celebrations. Preparations for the wedding have already begun, and Shikhar Dhawan himself is actively involved to ensure everything is well organised.

Speculation about the couple’s relationship had been circulating for several months. These rumours gained momentum when Shikhar Dhawan was seen with Sophie Shine in the stands during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Their frequent appearances together on social media and at public events further strengthened the reports about their relationship.

As per reports, Shikhar Dhawan and Sophie Shine first met a few years ago in Dubai. They initially became friends, and over time, their friendship turned into a romantic relationship. During IPL 2024 as well, Sophie was spotted on several occasions supporting Dhawan. It is worth noting that Shikhar Dhawan was earlier married to Australian citizen Ayesha Mukherjee. The couple has a son, Zorawar Dhawan. They got married in 2012 and separated in September 2021, with their divorce being finalised in 2023.

Reports suggest that Sophie Shine is an Irish product consultant with a strong professional background. She has studied marketing and management at the Limerick Institute of Technology. Currently, she is working as a Second Vice President at Northern Trust Corporation in Abu Dhabi. Although she prefers to stay away from the limelight, Sophie often remains in the news due to her stylish and glamorous presence.
