Supreme Court stern on Delhi-NCR pollution, says ‘judges can’t fix everything with a magic wand’

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) - The suffocating air in Delhi NCR is making life difficult for people. During this, the lawyer said that we are in an emergency-like situation, the real problem is monitoring. On this, CJI Suryakant said that we know the reasons, now we need a solution. The CJI said that every year the discussion about pollution starts during Diwali and as soon as winter ends, this issue disappears.
In fact, on Monday, the Supreme Court agreed to hear a case related to rising air pollution in Delhi-NCR. The matter was mentioned by an amicus, a lawyer appointed by the court. Due to the urgency of the situation in Delhi-NCR, an early hearing was requested. Commenting on the matter, the CJI asked, "What magic wand can the judiciary use to tell us? What order can we pass that will clean up the air today?" The CJI further stated, "We will hear the matter. The problem has been identified."
The CJI stated that there are many reasons behind the pollution in Delhi-NCR; it's not a single cause. Only domain experts can determine the multiple causes, and if there are multiple causes, those same experts can also provide solutions.
