Tragic accident: Devotees’ Bolero crashes into tree, 5 including couple killed
Five people including a couple and their daughter died after a Bolero carrying devotees crashed into a tree in Agra while returning from Kaila Devi temple.
Agra (The Uttam Hindu): A devastating road accident took place late Thursday night near Pai village under Chitrahat police station area, where a Bolero carrying devotees returning from Kaila Devi temple crashed into a roadside tree. Five members of the same family lost their lives, while four others sustained serious injuries.
The deceased include a couple, their young daughter, an elderly father and the driver. The injured have been admitted to Saifai Medical College for treatment.
Accident occurred while returning from temple
According to information, eight members of a family from Etawah had travelled to Rajasthan to visit the Kaila Devi temple. Around 11 pm on Thursday, while returning home, the speeding vehicle reportedly went out of control and rammed into a tree.
Hearing the loud crash, nearby villagers rushed to the spot and informed the police. Locals broke the car windows to rescue those trapped inside and immediately shifted the injured to a nearby Community Health Centre.
Doctors declared Devendra (35), his three-year-old daughter Aaradhya, wife Seema Devi (30), father Kanta Prasad (70) and driver Rishi (20) dead on arrival.
Four injured, shifted to Saifai
Devendra’s son Aditya, along with Rishabh, Rashmi and Avneesh, sustained injuries in the accident. After initial treatment, they were referred to Saifai Medical College, where their condition is being monitored.
Villagers said the impact was so severe that the car doors got jammed, making rescue operations difficult.
Cause of accident
Inspector Seema of Chitrahat police station stated that preliminary investigation suggests the driver may have dozed off, leading to the loss of control and the fatal crash.
