Tragic accident in Fazilka: car crashes into chowk after brake failure, 3 killed including two real brothers

Abohar (The Uttam Hindu): Three young men, including two real brothers, lost their lives in a tragic road accident late Sunday night in Punjab’s Abohar, while two others were seriously injured. The accident occurred when a speeding car went out of control and crashed into a chowk.
The deceased have been identified as Uday (24), Vishal (22), and Raman (22). Uday and Vishal were real brothers and the only children of their parents. Uday was married and is survived by his two young children. Raman was their relative (their aunt’s son). The incident has left the family devastated.
The injured have been identified as Roshan and Anmol. All five youths were residents of village Baluana near Abohar. It is reported that they used to take contracts for plucking kinnow from orchards and were returning after finalising a deal on Sunday night.
The accident took place around 1:15 a.m. between Sunday and Monday. The car was coming from the Hanumangarh road side and was descending from a bridge towards Roti Chowk. According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was moving at high speed, the driver lost control, and the car crashed into the chowk.
The impact was so severe that the front portion of the car was completely damaged, and the structure of the chowk was also broken. Two youths died on the spot, while three were found seriously injured and trapped inside the vehicle. Local residents rescued them and rushed them to the Civil Hospital, while informing the police and family members. Later, one more injured youth succumbed to his injuries.
According to City-1 police station in-charge Ravinder Singh, the bodies of the three deceased have been kept in the mortuary of the Civil Hospital. After postmortem, the bodies will be handed over to the families. The injured were referred to Faridkot for better treatment, where they are undergoing medical care. Police are investigating the matter.
