Gurugram(The Uttam Hindu): A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Gurugram, Haryana, on Wednesday, when a 27-year-old woman, Sharmila, a nurse at Paras Hospital, took her own life and that of her 3-year-old child by jumping from the seventh floor of their building. The woman's parents have alleged domestic discord and dowry harassment as the reasons behind this tragic act.

According to reports, Sharmila, a resident of Signature Global Society, Siddharth Enclave, jumped from the balcony of her room with her son, Yuvan, in her arms. The incident occurred when her husband, Rohit, a juice seller at the District Court, was not at home.

The police were alerted by residents of the building and arrived at the scene to begin an investigation. Although no suicide note was recovered, the woman's parents have filed a complaint at the Sector 10 police station, demanding action against her in-laws.

SHO Yogesh Kumar of Sector 10 Police Station confirmed that the police have summoned both parties to the police station and are continuing their investigation. A case will be registered, and action will be taken once a complaint is received.
