New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A video of Bollywood's famous playback singer Alka Yagnik is rapidly going viral on social media, in which she is seen in a wheelchair after the Padma Awards ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. As soon as the video surfaced, her fans became very concerned and began speculating about her health. Now, Alka Yagnik herself has shared the entire truth about this viral video and her health, bringing relief to her fans.

Had to take help of wheelchair due to fatigue

A day after receiving the Padma Bhushan from President Draupadi Murmu, the singer put an end to all speculation about her health by sharing a post on Instagram. Alka Yagnik clarified that she had not suffered a medical emergency, but was simply extremely tired after a long and busy day. She wrote that she had asked for a wheelchair after the ceremony due to the extreme fatigue she felt. The singer expressed gratitude to her fans for their concern and prayers and said that she is absolutely fine and her health is improving.

Bollywood's legendary singer is battling this serious illness

It's worth noting that in June 2024, Alka Yagnik revealed that she had been diagnosed with a rare hearing disorder called sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). This condition, which developed suddenly after a viral attack, was a major setback for her. This condition damages the nerves that transmit sound signals to the inner ear or brain. Since revealing her condition, Alka Yagnik has taken a significant hiatus from public appearances, focusing on her treatment and recovery. Her last recorded song was "Naram Kalaja" from director Imtiaz Ali's film "Amar Singh Chamkila."

Support from fans and family gave courage in difficult times

In her message, Alka explained that she has been away from the limelight for the past two years to focus on her health. The unwavering support of her family, friends, and fans has given her immense strength during this challenging time. For Alka Yagnik, who has been spreading the magic of her melodious voice in the music industry for decades, receiving the Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian honor, marks another major milestone in her illustrious career. Fans are not only celebrating this significant honor, but also wishing for her speedy recovery.
