Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Cyber Awareness Month, October 2025, was launched in Mumbai, where Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar were seen. The event was held at the Maharashtra Police Headquarters, where Akshay Kumar recounted the cyber crime incident involving his daughter and urged Devendra Fadnavis to ensure that every school teaches children cybersecurity as a subject.

Akshay Kumar said at the event, "I want to tell you about an incident that happened at my house a few months ago. My daughter was playing an online game, and there are many people involved in that game whom we don't know. A message comes from there, 'Well played, very good,' and then a question comes, 'Where do you live?' My daughter told me the location. Then everything became normal for a few days, and then a message comes...'Are you male or female?' My daughter responds to that too. After that, he suddenly demands obscene photos from her, and my daughter tells my wife about it."

The actor continues, "It's good that my daughter shared this problem with her mother... but in some cases, that's not possible. This is also a type of cybercrime, and it starts like this... I request Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis that, just as children learn history and math in school, children should also be taught about cybercrime. This is crucial for children to understand the digital world."

Akshay Kumar's daughter, Nitara, is 12 years old. The actor always keeps his daughter away from the media. He rarely posts photos with his daughter on social media, and in most photos, her face is hidden.
