Bachchan Family in Spotlight: Abhishek Approaches High Court After Aishwarya

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): After actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, now her husband and Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has also knocked the door of Delhi High Court regarding misuse of his identity, image and name. Abhishek has filed a petition demanding a ban on the use of his name, picture, voice and personality by websites, YouTube channels and other digital mediums.
He has appealed to the court not to use all these things without his permission because many people are using it for personal and commercial benefits. In the petition, Abhishek Bachchan has clarified that his image and voice are being misused and all this is being done without any legal permission. He told that many such videos and content have surfaced on social media and digital platforms which are either completely fake or edited. In some of this content, he has been deliberately presented in a controversial or objectionable manner which is harming his image. Through this petition, he has demanded protection of 'personality rights'.
Let us tell you that these rights give any person the right to decide how and for what purpose his name, face, voice or any personal identity should be used. Abhishek's petition also states that fake videos are being created using the rapidly growing AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Deepfake technology in the digital world which is not only affecting his image but it is also a serious violation of the right to privacy.
It is worth noting that earlier Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had also filed a similar petition in which she had alleged that her face was being circulated on social media by adding it to a controversial video. Such incidents are not only a matter of concern for film celebrities but also raise serious questions about digital security and privacy for common people.
