New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) : Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has been threatened by the Khalistani terrorist organization Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) to cancel his concert in Australia on November 1. The organization issued this threat after Diljit touched Amitabh Bachchan's feet on the TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati.

“The victims of 1984 have been insulted”—SFJ

In its statement, SFJ said that by touching Amitabh Bachchan's feet, Diljit has "insulted every victim, every widow and every orphan of the 1984 Sikh riots." The organization alleged that Amitabh Bachchan played a role in inciting violence during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, and touching his feet is "not ignorance but betrayal." SFJ warned that no conscientious Sikh can organize any kind of celebration or concert on November 1, which the organization observes as "Remembrance Day."

What's the matter?

Recently, Diljit Dosanjh appeared on an episode of the TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati, where he touched Amitabh Bachchan's feet on stage. A video of this emotional moment went viral on social media. However, following this incident, the SFJ called it a "betrayal of the Sikh community" and threatened to shut down Diljit's Australia show. Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh is scheduled to perform in Australia on November 1st. Prior to this, the Khalistani terrorist organization Sikhs for Justice had threatened to shut it down.

The 1984 Background

Following the assassination of then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards in 1984, anti-Sikh riots broke out across the country, killing thousands. The SFJ claimed in its statement that Bachchan allegedly chanted the slogan "Khoon ka abdal khoon" at the time—though this claim has never been legally verified.
