Bollywood Actor Farhan Akhtar Donates to Aid Uttarakhand Flood Victims in Distress

Dehradun (The Uttam Hindu): Heavy monsoon rains and floods have wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand, disrupting the lives of thousands of people. In this difficult time, Bollywood actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has come forward to help the flood victims. He has donated 50 mobile phones with the aim of reconnecting those who have lost everything in the disaster with their families.
This help has been extended especially to the victims of the worst-affected Harshil and Dharali districts. According to reports, Farhan has done this noble deed through the Gurugram-based non-profit organization 'Bharat Disaster Relief Foundation' (BDRF). When approached for help by a member of the organization, the actor immediately sent 50 phones costing around Rs 7,000 per piece.
It is worth noting that heavy rains are continuing in Uttarakhand these days and the Meteorological Department has also issued an orange alert. Due to the overflowing of the Telgad river in Harshil, the communication system has completely stopped in many areas. In such a situation, this help will play an important role in reconnecting the people.
On the work front, Farhan Akhtar will soon be seen in the film '120 Bahadur'. The film is based on the historical battle of the 1962 Indo-China war, in which he is playing the role of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati.
