Dalai Lama wins first Grammy for ‘Meditations’, Billie Eilish gets Song of the Year for ‘Wildflower’

Los Angeles (The Uttam Hindu): The winners of the 68th Grammy Awards, often referred to as the Oscars of the music world, have been announced. The grand event is being held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, where leading artists from across the global music industry are being honored for their outstanding work. One of the most talked-about wins this year belongs to Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama.

The Dalai Lama won his first-ever Grammy Award for his audiobook ‘Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’, which received the award for Best Audio Book, Narration and Storytelling Recording. Other nominees in this category included prominent personalities such as Ketanji Brown Jackson and Grammy host Trevor Noah.

Meanwhile, Billie Eilish won the Song of the Year award for her track ‘Wildflower’, which she co-wrote and co-produced with her brother Finneas. The song ‘Golden’ from the K-pop-related project K-pop Demon Hunters won Best Song Written for Visual Media, marking the first Grammy win for a K-pop act.

Several major names secured awards at the 68th Grammy Awards. Album of the Year was won by Bad Bunny for his Spanish-language album ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’. Record of the Year went to Kendrick Lamar and SZA for their song ‘Luther’. The Song of the Year honor was awarded to Lady Gaga for ‘Abracadabra’, highlighting her creativity and performance strength.

The Best New Artist award was claimed by British singer Olivia Dean. Best Pop Vocal Album also went to Lady Gaga for ‘Mayhem’, reinforcing her strong presence in pop music. At the 68th Grammys, Lady Gaga, producer Circuit, and Jack Antonoff led the nominations with seven nods each, representing different musical styles. Close behind were Bad Bunny, Leon Thomas, and Sabrina Carpenter, who received six nominations each.

Additionally, ‘Music for John Williams’ won Best Music Film, earning director Steven Spielberg his first Grammy Award.
