Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh's film 'Sardaar Ji 3' is facing growing backlash due to the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir amid heightened Indo-Pak tensions. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing strong opposition to the film’s release and Hania’s inclusion—especially in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 tourists.

AICWA has demanded:

Immediate ban on Diljit’s social media accounts in India

Removal of his songs and movies from platforms like YouTube, Spotify, JioSaavn, and OTTs

Ban on his live performances and government event participation

The association also urged the CBFC to deny certification to all his future films and called for a full investigation into the film’s funding. AICWA has imposed an industry-wide ban on Diljit, warning of strict legal action against anyone collaborating with him.

Earlier, the FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) had also demanded similar action, including cancellation of Diljit’s passport and Indian citizenship, claiming he hurt national sentiment by working with a Pakistani actor. Following the controversy, Diljit announced that 'Sardaar Ji 3' will not be released in India.
