New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Bollywood actress turned Sadhvi Mamta Kulkarni is once again in the headlines. During a religious event in Gorakhpur, she caused a stir with her statement regarding Dawood Ibrahim. When journalists asked her questions related to Dawood, Mamta said, “I had nothing to do with Dawood. Those whose names are being mentioned have not carried out any bomb blasts or committed any anti-national activities. I have never met Dawood.”

Following this statement, discussions on social media intensified, with many users interpreting it as support for Dawood. Following the growing controversy, Mamta Kulkarni clarified her statement. She said, "My words have been taken out of context. Please listen carefully to the entire statement and use the discretion of saints and sages. I had no connection with Dawood. For some time, my name was linked with Vicky Goswami, but he never did anything anti-national." At the event, held in PPganj, Gorakhpur, Mamta shared the stage with Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Kinnar of the Kinnar Akhara.

From Actress to Sadhvi Mamta Kulkarni, a famous actress of the 90s, gained recognition with films like "Karan Arjun," "Sabse Bada Khiladi," and "Baazi." After a long absence from the film world, she took sanyas (renunciation) and now lives a spiritual life under the name Mahamandaleshwar Yamai Mamta Nandgiri. Mamta says that she has now completely renounced worldly life and has chosen religion, spiritual practice, and social service as her path.
