Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Mumbai Police have taken major steps in the cases related to firing outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence and the threat received by actor Ranveer Singh. The police have recorded the statements of the managers of both Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh. Investigators have also recreated a crucial scene linked to the Rohit Shetty firing case.

According to the police, Ranveer Singh received a threatening voice note from an unknown number. The caller claimed to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and demanded money. Ranveer immediately informed senior police officials. A team from the Mumbai Crime Branch visited the actor and recorded his manager’s statement. Police also questioned whether Ranveer had received any previous threats or faced similar incidents in the past. In the voice note, the accused allegedly threatened members of the actor’s staff. The voice sample is now under forensic examination, and efforts are on to trace its source.

In the firing case outside Rohit Shetty’s house, the Mumbai Crime Branch recreated the entire sequence involving the scooter used by the accused from Pune to Mumbai. Four accused—Swapnil Sakat, Aditya Gaiki, Siddharth Yenpure, and Samarth Pomaji—were present during the recreation. Police reenacted every step, from purchasing the scooter to traveling by road from Pune to Mumbai, halting points along the way, and finally parking it near Vile Parle station.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that after reaching Mumbai, the main accused, Shubham Lonkar, paid them an additional ₹11,000. While earlier police inputs mentioned ₹40,000, the investigation has now established a total amount of ₹51,000, including ₹30,000 for the scooter and ₹21,000 for related expenses. The entire scene recreation was videographed and will be submitted in court as evidence.

Sources said the custody of the sixth accused, Pravin Lonkar, will be sought from jail within the next two to three days. The main shooter and his associate are still absconding, and search operations are ongoing. Police have invoked the MCOCA Act in the case and intensified the investigation.
