
Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): In 2024, Pushpa 2: The Rule starring Allu Arjun created a massive impact at the box office immediately after its release. The film broke several revenue records in India as well as globally.
Now, the film has also dominated the 70th Filmfare Awards South. Both the actor and the film secured multiple honours at the ceremony. Made on a budget of around ₹500 crore, the film collected a total of five major awards.
At the 70th edition of the Filmfare Awards South, Pushpa 2 received the highest number of awards. It won the Best Film in Telugu category. The Best Director award was presented to Sukumar for directing Pushpa 2. Allu Arjun was honoured with the Best Actor award for his performance in the same film. His acting received widespread appreciation, and the film’s earnings reflect its strong audience response.
In addition, the Best Music Album award went to Devi Sri Prasad for Pushpa 2. The Best Production Design award was presented to Ramakrishna and Monica for their work on the film. Altogether, Pushpa 2 secured five awards, the highest by any film at this year’s ceremony.
Released in 2024, Pushpa 2 achieved remarkable box office success. The film earned over ₹1,800 crore worldwide, while its collection in India across all languages crossed approximately ₹1,400 crore. The Hindi version contributed significantly to its domestic earnings. On its opening day, the film surpassed the first-day collections of RRR and KGF: Chapter 2.
In terms of opening-day numbers, RRR collected ₹133 crore and KGF: Chapter 2 earned ₹116 crore. In comparison, Pushpa 2 recorded an opening of around ₹163 crore, exceeding both films by a considerable margin.
