Rani Chatterjee Threatens Legal Action Over Fake News - Bhojpuri Star Responds Strongly

Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Popular Bhojpuri film actress Rani Chatterjee has once again made headlines after she labeled a news report against her as "fake" and threatened legal action. This is not the first time the Bhojpuri star has taken to issuing threats; she has done so on multiple occasions before, including threatening suicide and even making threats of physical violence.

Referring to a news report, Rani Chatterjee shared a post on Facebook, criticizing the channel. She wrote, "If such useless news is aired again, I will file an FIR against your channel. Do you have any evidence that I am desperate to work with Khesari or that I demotivated him? Khesari Ji just says anything, he always tries to bring others down to make himself appear bigger."

The news article in question claimed, “Rani had refused to work with Khesari, but now she is desperate to work with him.”

Clarifying her stance, Rani further wrote, "I have been working long before Khesari became a hero. He only appeared in 'Naagin' because I didn’t object to it, in fact, I supported him. I don't usually react, but this is getting too much now."

Rani explained that in her 20-year career, she has never faced difficulty or desperation to get work. She continued, "It’s not necessary that everything Khesari says is true. Not just me, the entire industry has supported him, and if you are doing journalism, do it with evidence. Let me tell you, no heroine could ever think of supporting new actors the way I have, and as for desperation, I have never had to beg for work in the last 20 years in the Bhojpuri film industry."

Rani further added, "When I made my debut with Sasura Bada Paisa Wala in 2004, I wasn’t afraid or desperate, so why would I be in 2025 when I am more capable now?"

Mocking Khesari, Rani continued, "The truth is, the actor you are talking about never respected any actor who helped him in his early days. What more can I say? A superstar should think before speaking about their co-stars. To be honest, I am his friend, but I don’t think I can ever say that again after these false accusations. I am hurt by such lies."

This is not the first time Rani has made such threats. Earlier, she had threatened to slap users who created fake accounts in her name and left comments. She also appealed to the Mumbai Police to take action.

In addition, Rani had made headlines in 2020 when she posted on Instagram stating that she was being harassed by someone and was feeling so distressed that she was contemplating suicide. In her Instagram post, she mentioned that she had been troubled by a person for several years, and that she was in depression and thinking of taking her life. She had urged the Mumbai Police to take action in the matter.
