Controversial Film 'Udaipur Files' Set for Release on July 11; Legal Hearing Underway in Delhi High Court

Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu) : The film Udaipur Files, slated for theatrical release on July 11, has been surrounded by controversy since the launch of its trailer. The movie, which is based on the 2022 murder of tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur, has faced widespread backlash, with multiple cases registered against the film and its makers across various locations. The issue has also taken a political turn, drawing sharp reactions from several quarters.
Amid growing opposition, a petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court seeking action against the film. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing the petitioners, expressed concern in court, stating, "We are quite shocked." On the other hand, Additional Solicitor General Vikramjit Banerjee, appearing on behalf of the opposing side, informed the court that they had just received a submission note on the matter.
After briefly hearing arguments from both parties, the Delhi High Court scheduled a further hearing for 2:30 PM today to continue examining the case. As the release date approaches, the legal and political storm surrounding Udaipur Files continues to intensify, keeping the film in the national spotlight.
