Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Major action was taken on Monday in the case of the death of Punjab Warehousing Corporation (PWC) District Manager Gagandeep Singh Randhawa. Police arrested former minister Laljit Singh Bhullar in connection with the case. This action was taken by the Fatehgarh Sahib police following instructions from Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

According to reports, Gagandeep Singh Randhawa committed suicide on March 21st, after which the case gained momentum. Former minister Laljit Bhullar was accused of harassment and mental pressure in Randhawa's death. A significant turning point in the case came when a video recorded by the deceased before his suicide surfaced. In this video, Randhawa allegedly named the former minister for causing him trouble. Following this, the family filed a police complaint, accusing Bhullar of harassment, threats, and mental pressure.

Based on the family's complaint and the video that surfaced, the police registered a case and began an investigation. Based on the evidence found during the investigation, the former minister has now been arrested. This action has sparked political turmoil.

Earlier on Monday, Randhawa's wife had stated that he died on March 21st, but today is the 23rd, and nothing has happened in the case. "We demanded the arrest of the accused, but the government has done nothing," she said. She gave the government a 24-hour ultimatum, saying that if nothing happens, they will take to the streets with their children. They will also sacrifice themselves. She also said that if the Punjab government doesn't listen, they will demand a CBI investigation.

Gagandeep Singh Randhawa's daughter had said that they (the accused) say the allegations are baseless. There is no evidence for this. However, there is strong evidence regarding my father's death. He received 10 calls from an official number. This should be subjected to a technical and forensic investigation, which will reveal everything. The accused should be arrested immediately and should not be granted bail.
