ACB Cracks Down in Haryana: DC’s PA Arrested for Bribe, Rs 3.5 Lakh Seized from Office

Sonipat (The Uttam Hindu): The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Sonipat, Haryana, carried out a major action against corruption on Friday. The team raided the district administrative complex and arrested the PA (personal assistant) of the DC (Deputy Commissioner) red handed while taking bribe. The ACB team has also recovered cash worth Rs 3.5 lakh from the accused's office.
According to the information received, DC's assistant Shashank Sharma was demanding bribe in exchange for doing some work. A victim had informed the ACB team in this regard. After receiving the complaint, the team laid a trap and sent the victim to the PA by giving him money coated with powder.
In the afternoon, as soon as the victim went to the DC office and was handing over the bribe amount to the PA, the ACB team raided and caught Shashank Sharma on the spot.
There was a stir in the DC office after the arrest of the PA. The ACB team immediately seized the bribe amount and took the accused into custody and started questioning him. The ACB is now also investigating the possible role of other officials in this case.
