Panchkula (The Uttam Hindu): Marking one year of his government, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini announced a major relief for the elderly population of the state by raising the monthly old-age pension from ₹3,000 to ₹3,200. The revised pension will come into effect from November 1, bringing much-needed financial support to thousands of senior citizens. This follows the last revision made on January 1, 2024, when the pension was increased from ₹2,750 to ₹3,000.

Government Marks One Year with Key Milestones

During a state-level event in Panchkula, CM Saini presented his government’s one-year report card, stating that 46 out of 217 promises made before the Assembly elections have been fulfilled, while work is actively progressing on 158 others. He expressed confidence that by the end of this fiscal year, over 90 commitments will be completed.

Focus on Welfare and Transparency

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said,

“Government jobs and old-age pensions are two core issues for Haryana. This increase in pension will provide real relief and financial stability to our senior citizens.”

He added that the state is moving forward at a ‘non-stop pace of development’, emphasizing transparency and accountability in governance. To further improve public convenience, the CM also announced that all tehsil offices in Haryana will now remain open on Saturdays, ensuring smoother access to administrative services.

Major Boost to Housing Initiatives

At the event, CM Saini distributed allotment letters to beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme 2.0, and announced new allocations under the Chief Minister Urban Housing Scheme.

He revealed that 518 residential plots were allotted in Pinjore on Friday, taking the total number of plots distributed by the government to 15,765 so far.

In just one year, over 77,000 families have benefited from various housing schemes across the state.

Land and Housing for the Homeless

In a significant social welfare measure, the Chief Minister announced that landless and homeless citizens will be provided land and homes by the government under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

“We are committed to ensuring that every family in Haryana has a roof over its head,” Saini said, promising that the state will allocate land and assist in constructing houses for the needy.

PM Modi’s Visit Postponed

The Chief Minister also informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to attend the event but had to postpone his visit due to unforeseen reasons. He added that the Prime Minister will soon visit Haryana to inaugurate several key development projects and extend his blessings to the people of the state.

With these announcements, the Nayab Saini government aims to reinforce its image as a people-centric and development-driven administration, ahead of upcoming political milestones.
