Haryana Chief Minister Releases Book, "Tilak Janeu Ka Rakha"

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Shri Nayab Singh Saini, Chief Minister Haryana released a book, Tilak Janeu Ka Rakha, at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh today. The book has been authored by S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura
The chief minister was also honoured with the Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh award instituted by the Global Punjabi Association. The award acknowledges his leadership, commitment to social harmony, and work for the Sikh community.
A detailed review about the book was given by Col. Jaibans Singh, wherein the book was described as an inspiring account of the life and the ultimate sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
In his address, the chief minister said that Guru Tegh Bahadur stood up for humanity and religious freedom and reminded unmoved from his principles in the face of Emperor Aurangzeb’s oppressive policies. He preferred martyrdom to bowing down to religious repression.
In his speech, CM also highlighted recent initiatives taken by his government to preserve Sikh heritage: he declared that a medical college in Haryana is being named after ‘Hind Ki Chadar’ Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji; a college in Assandh is being named after Baba Fateh Singh (son of Guru Gobind Singh Ji); and an active Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee is being instituted in Haryana.
Prominent dignitaries present at the event included Goswami Sushil Maharaj, Maharani Uma Singh of Nabha; Sardar Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, President Global Punjabi Association and other office bearers of the organisation
Various dignitaries and invitees from literary, circles, and retired senior bureaucrats graced the occasion.
