Narnaul (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking and tragic incident has come to light from Narnaul in Haryana’s Mahendragarh district, where a 42-year-old hotel owner suddenly died while sitting on a chair and watching his mobile phone. The entire incident was captured on the hotel’s CCTV camera, and the video has now surfaced. The footage clearly shows how a seemingly healthy man passed away within moments. The deceased has been identified as Sunil Sharma, a resident of village Gahda, who owned a hotel named “Suraj” in Kanina.
The incident reportedly took place around 7:30 pm on Friday. According to family members, after having dinner at home, Sunil Sharma went out for a walk and reached his hotel during the stroll. He sat calmly on a chair near the counter, placed his feet on a stool in front of him, and started watching his mobile phone. CCTV footage shows that he remained busy on his phone for nearly three minutes, gently rocking on the chair. Suddenly, he appeared uncomfortable, possibly felt a sudden shock or drowsiness, and collapsed straight from the chair onto the floor.
Tenants staying at the hotel and staff members rushed to help as soon as they saw Sunil fall. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. As per the doctors’ preliminary opinion, the death is suspected to have been caused by heart failure. However, the police have taken the body into custody and a post-mortem examination will be conducted, after which the exact cause of death will be confirmed.
The sudden death of Sunil Sharma has left his family devastated. He was also involved in animal feed manufacturing and held construction contracts in Rajasthan. He is survived by his wife and three children, including two sons aged 15 and 11, and a 13-year-old daughter. The unexpected loss of the family’s sole breadwinner has shocked the entire area, and relatives are inconsolable.
