Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday strongly criticized the Congress in the Haryana Assembly, accusing it of misleading the public with “politics of lies” and attempting to disrupt recruitment processes through a so-called “recruitment stop gang.”

Responding to the work-stoppage proposal moved by the Congress, the Chief Minister said the present government has restored the confidence of youth by ensuring transparent and merit-based recruitment, unlike the previous regime where irregularities and favoritism were common. He said the government takes immediate action even on the slightest suspicion of paper leaks to protect the interests of candidates.

Saini clarified that the advertisement for 8,653 posts was withdrawn by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission due to the General Eligibility Test (CET), allowing more candidates to participate. The advertisement was later reissued with an increased number of posts.

He said the Gram Sachiv examination was canceled after reports of a paper leak and was later conducted successfully, with results declared on schedule. Similarly, the Patwari, Canal Patwari, and Police Constable examinations were rescheduled or conducted again after procedural changes or suspected irregularities.

The Chief Minister also informed the House that recruitment for Assistant Professors is largely complete, with recommendations already sent for many posts, while the remaining cases and some promotions are pending due to court orders.

Comparing recruitment records, Saini said the Congress government recruited 3,593 candidates through the Haryana Public Service Commission during its 10-year tenure, whereas the present government has recruited 11,017 candidates in the past 11 years.

He said that since 2014 the government has implemented a transparent recruitment system, helping restore public trust. According to him, examinations are canceled whenever irregularities are suspected to maintain fairness and integrity.

Saini added that the opposition continues to make baseless allegations despite detailed responses from the government, accusing Congress leaders of attempting to mislead the youth of Haryana.
