Congress Falsely Accusing, Centre Released ₹5000 Crore for Himachal Disaster: BJP

Shimla (The Uttam Hindu): BJP state secretary and MLA Vinod Kumar and media in-charge Karna Nanda said that the present Congress government of the state is trying to create a false perception among the people of Himachal. We would like to clearly state that the central government has stood with the Himachal government and will continue to do so. The central government gave more than 5000 crores to Himachal to deal with the disaster, Congress and its ministers are lying.
He said that on October 1, 2024, the state received assistance of Rs 189 crore from NDRF. The Home Ministry had released Rs 5858.60 crore to 14 flood-affected states as central share from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and as advance amount from the National Disaster Response Fund. On August 3, 2024, the Center had given financial assistance of Rs 61 crore to Himachal. This financial assistance was left in the year 2021, which has now been released by the Central Government.
On November 26, 2024, the Central Government has approved an amount of Rs 1115.67 crore for disaster mitigation and capacity building projects for various states, out of which Himachal Pradesh will get Rs 139 crore. On April 30, 2025, the Expenditure Department of the Finance Ministry of the Central Government released financial assistance of Rs 107.15 crore to Himachal Pradesh under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). Under the State Disaster Reduction Fund-1, Rs 42 crore 80 lakh was received on 16 May-M 2023. Under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF)-1, Rs 189 crore 27 lakh was received on 7 August 2023. Under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF)-2, Rs 200 crore was received on 21 August 2023. On 12 December 2024, the Ministry of Home Affairs approved additional financial assistance of Rs 633.73 crore from the National Disaster Response Fund for Himachal Pradesh. On 6 October 2024, Rs 189.20 crore approved for NDRF and SDRF had arrived in the account of the Himachal government. The central government has given this amount for the disaster that occurred in the state during the 2023 monsoon.
He said that due to geographical complexities, Himachal Pradesh faces natural disaster almost every year. During the disaster in Himachal, I, along with Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh, BJP leader Anurag Thakur, with the help of Union Minister JP Nadda, got 16,206 thousand houses sanctioned for the state under Awas Yojana and 2700 km of roads to be built at a cost of Rs 2373 crore under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana. On April 1, 2025, 21 bridges destroyed in the disaster in Himachal in the year 2023 will be rebuilt. These bridges will be built with Rs 140.90 crore under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (Phase-3).
The Union Rural Development Ministry has approved Rs 126.81 crore. On April 5, 2025, the Central Government has approved Rs 136.22 crore to compensate for the losses caused by the natural disaster in Himachal in the year 2024. He said that on July 18, 2025, JP Nadda had thanked the PM for the Rs 2006.40 crore received from the Central Government to deal with the crisis in Devbhoomi and to provide relief to the disaster victims.
