Himachal Pradesh (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been a strong advocate of increasing youth participation in Indian politics and has repeatedly spoken from various platforms about bringing 1 lakh young people into politics whose families have no active involvement in politics. He reiterated this point yesterday after the election of Shri Nitin Nabin as the new National President of the BJP. In light of this, former Union Minister and MP from Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, is going to launch a Leadership Fellowship Program from Dharamshala on January 23rd, with the aim of preparing the next generation of young leaders in politics and policy-making in Himachal Pradesh.

In the first phase of this program, he will hold a dialogue and dinner meeting with senior journalists, representatives from prestigious institutions, and Gen-Z influencers. Speaking about the program, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur said, “Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has called for bringing 100,000 young people into politics from various platforms. With the aim of bringing the youth of Himachal Pradesh into politics, developing their understanding of policy, preparing the next generation of leaders, and strengthening their regional and national participation, I have decided to launch a Leadership Fellowship Program.

This Leadership Fellowship program is a unique program of its kind and aims to develop the necessary skills, understanding, and leadership qualities in thousands of young people in Himachal Pradesh to make a positive impact on society. In this context, during a pleasant meeting with the state office bearers and district presidents of BJP Himachal Yuva Morcha in Delhi, we discussed Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision of bringing 100,000 young people into politics, increasing the participation of youth in social life, and channeling the energy of youth power towards nation-building.”

Shri Anurag Singh Thakur further added, “We can consider this program as a means to prepare the next generation of politically skilled, governance-proficient, policy-savvy, and socially sensitive leaders.

This program is an initiative to prepare responsible, understanding, and confident young people who can contribute to nation-building. Today, India is the youngest nation in the world. We consider the power of our youth as the greatest asset of the country. With this belief and confidence, we are moving forward in every field, and the Modi government is formulating many policies keeping the youth in mind. My Bharat (My India), a historic initiative of the central government, has emerged as a platform to empower the youth of the country and enable them to contribute to nation-building. This platform is providing new opportunities for service, leadership, and skill development to the youth of the country.

To channel the energy of the youth in Himachal in the right direction and to provide them with more opportunities, I have kept programs like Sansad Khel Mahakumbh, Sansad Bharat Darshan, and Ek Se Shreshtha running through my personal efforts.”
