Nalagarh (The Uttam Hindu): The New Year began with panic in Nalagarh town of Solan district, Himachal Pradesh, after a powerful blast was reported near the wall of a police station on Thursday morning. The explosion occurred around 9:15 am, sending shockwaves through the entire area and causing chaos among residents.

The intensity of the blast was such that windows of multiple nearby buildings were shattered. Apart from the police station, glass panes of the ECHS Polyclinic and the Market Committee building were also damaged. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far, though the incident resulted in significant property damage.

As soon as information about the blast was received, the police sealed the area immediately to prevent any tampering with evidence. Police teams reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Senior police officials also arrived at the site to assess the situation.

Authorities are now probing whether the blast was the result of mischief by antisocial elements or part of a larger conspiracy. As a precautionary measure, security has been tightened in surrounding areas. Police officials stated that the exact cause of the explosion and the material used will be clear only after forensic examination and detailed reports are received.
