Una (The Uttam Hindu): A deeply disturbing incident has emerged from Una district in Himachal Pradesh, where a minor girl was allegedly tied up and brutally beaten by a former serviceman for plucking guavas. The shocking video of the incident has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage.
In the viral footage, the child can be heard repeatedly pleading for help, crying “Uncle, please save me,” while the accused continues to assault her mercilessly. Despite her cries, the man showed no sign of stopping.
According to reports, the incident took place in Behdala village. The girl had reportedly plucked a guava from a tree located outside a house while passing by. Enraged over this minor act, the accused allegedly dragged her into his house, tied her hands and legs with a rope, and beat her.

Local residents intervened after learning about the incident and rescued the child. Someone recorded the entire episode and shared it on social media, following which the video spread rapidly and drew strong public condemnation.
Taking swift action, the district administration and police stepped in. The accused has been taken into custody, and a case has been registered under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Juvenile Justice Act (JJ Act).
Police officials stated that preliminary investigation confirmed the girl had plucked a guava from a fruit tree whose branches extended towards the road. The house owner allegedly reacted violently, leading to the assault.
Authorities have strongly condemned the act, stating that such behavior is not only illegal but also against basic human values. They emphasized that no individual has the right to take the law into their own hands, especially in cases involving minors.
The district police have urged citizens to promptly report such incidents to authorities to ensure timely action and prevent similar occurrences.
