Tragedy in Una: 3 students drown after slipping into ravine while playing

Una (The Uttam Hindu): Three schoolgirls, including two sisters, drowned in a ravine in the Bangana subdivision of Una district in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday. All three students were studying in the 7th and 8th grades at Sanhal School. The deceased students have been identified as Khushi, daughter of Manjeet, and Komal and Sonakshi, both daughters of Ajay Kumar. The police recovered the bodies of all three by late evening. Today, the bodies of the three students are being taken to Una for postmortem. After the postmortem, the bodies of all three will be handed over to their families.
It is being told that yesterday, due to school holiday, all three had gone for a walk near the ravine. During this, one girl slipped and started drowning in the water. To save her, two other girls also jumped into the ravine. This resulted in the death of all three. When the girls did not return home in the evening, the family members started searching for them. After this, someone saw the slippers of one of the girls floating in the river. The police got information about this at around 7 in the evening. After this, when the family members and the police reached the spot, the bodies of all three were floating in the water. By late evening, all three girls were taken out of the water and taken to the Community Health Centre, Thana Kalan, where the doctors declared all three dead.
