Tragic Accident in Mandi: Car Falls from Bridge Near IIT, 5 from Punjab Killed
Mandi (The Uttam Hindu): A major accident took place in Himachal's Mandi district on Sunday morning. A vehicle carrying people from Punjab met with an accident near the new bridge near IIT. Five people died in this accident, while one was injured. The police have taken the bodies into custody and started investigation. According to preliminary information, the vehicle with Punjab registration number PB 02 EG 4543 was going towards IIT. There were 6 people in it.
The car landed on a new bridge which had not been inaugurated yet. The driver lost control of the car while turning on the bridge after a sudden descent and it climbed the railing. Five people in the car fell into the Uhal river and the road and died. While one is injured. The deceased have not been identified yet. It is being told that they were going towards Kullu to get vegetable supplies. SHO Padhar Saurabh said that the police have not been able to investigate the cause of the accident.
