Geneva/Kiev (Uttam Hindu News): Amid the ongoing conflict with Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky highlighted India’s crucial role on the global stage. While acknowledging some energy-related disagreements, Zelensky emphasized that they can be resolved through dialogue. He said that India is “mostly on our side” and that some differences related to energy can be resolved through dialogue.

Zelensky emphasized that India is a global power that cannot be ignored. He urged European countries to strengthen their relations with India. Earlier, Zelensky had also said regarding China that if it truly wants the war to end, it should put pressure on Russia.

Recently, Zelensky spoke to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the phone. The leaders discussed the current situation of the Russia-Ukraine war. Zelensky shared on social media platform X that he briefed PM Modi about a meeting in Washington attended by former U.S. President Donald Trump and several European leaders.

He wrote, “It was an important discussion where there was a shared understanding on how to achieve real and sustainable peace. Moscow has attacked civilian locations, and many of our citizens have been killed. I thank Prime Minister Modi for expressing sympathy for the victims.”

Last week, Zelensky stated that Russia has launched over 3,500 drones, 2,500 powerful glide bombs, and nearly 200 missiles inside Ukraine. He said that it is time for European nations to collaborate on a multi-layered air defense system to secure their skies.

He added, “Technologies for such a defense system are available; what is needed is investment and political will. We expect concrete decisions and strong action from all our partners.”

Zelensky also reiterated his message regarding China, saying that if China truly wants the war to end, it must pressure Russia. Ukraine has long demanded that global powers diplomatically and economically isolate Russia to bring an end to the war.
