Big Relief for Media Workers: Government Rolls Out ₹15,000 Pension for Journalists

Patna (The Uttam Hindu)- Amidst preparations for Bihar elections, the Chief Minister of the state Nitish Kumar has made a big announcement for journalists. Now it has been decided to increase the pension amount being given to the recognized journalists of Bihar.


CM Nitish Kumar announced this through social media. Nitish Kumar said in a social media post, "I am happy to inform that under the 'Bihar Patrakar Samman Pension Yojana', now the department has been instructed to provide pension amount of Rs 15 thousand instead of Rs 6 thousand to all eligible journalists every month. Also, in case of death of journalists receiving pension under this scheme, their dependent husband / wife has been instructed to be given pension amount of Rs 10 thousand instead of Rs 3 thousand per month for life."


He further said that journalists play an important role in democracy, they are the fourth pillar of democracy and they have an important role in social development. We have been taking care of the facilities of journalists from the beginning so that they can do their journalism impartially and live their life in a respectable manner after retirement.
