Madhya Pradesh (The Uttam Hindu): A woman from Panna district in Madhya Pradesh has struck it rich after discovering a 2.69-carat diamond while working in a private mine. After years of tireless digging, her perseverance finally paid off when she found the precious stone at a leased site in Sakaria village. The diamond has been deposited at the local mining office and will be auctioned according to official procedures.

As per authorities, the woman will receive the proceeds from the auction after the deduction of applicable royalty and taxes. The district diamond examiner confirmed the deposit of the gem on Monday and stated that it would soon go under the hammer. The find has created a wave of excitement in the region, known for its diamond reserves.

Sharing her emotions, the woman said she had been working relentlessly for the past two years in hopes of a discovery. “This time I got it. I am feeling good. God listened to me at last,” she said. The diamond was found in the Chopra Mine area, which falls under the Sakaria village panchayat. The discovery is being seen as a beacon of hope for many others working in similar mines across the region.
