Aam Aadmi Party Inaugurates Campaign Office in Tarn Taran Ahead of By-Election

Tarn Taran (The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President Aman Arora today inaugurated the party’s campaign office in Tarn Taran ahead of the upcoming by-election, officially launching AAP’s campaign in the holy city. The event was attended by senior party leaders, including Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, Candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu, AAP Punjab Working President Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi and several senior office-bearers.
Addressing the media, Aman Arora said that AAP has fielded S. Harmeet Singh Sandhu, a three-time MLA from Tarn Taran, as its candidate for the by-election. Expressing confidence in a resounding victory, Arora said, “The kind of unprecedented development that has taken place in Punjab under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s leadership in the past three and a half years has won the hearts of the people. Combined with Harmeet Singh Sandhu’s deep bond with the people of Tarn Taran, there is no doubt that the Aam Aadmi Party will win this by-election with a huge margin.”
Arora highlighted that AAP’s only agenda in this election is development. “We don’t do politics of caste, religion or hate. Our only issue is development, development, and development,” he asserted.
Listing major achievements of the Mann government, Arora said, “Be it healthcare, education, power sector reforms, road safety initiatives, or ensuring canal water reaches every farm, AAP has delivered on every front. The government closed toll plazas, purchased the GVK thermal power plant, initiated 19,000 road upgradation projects, build 3,100 new sports grounds, and is waging a decisive battle against drugs. These are the works that previous governments should have done, but they were too busy filling their own coffers.”
He added that the coming one-and-a-half years will see even greater progress in Tarn Taran. “Guru Sahib’s sacred city deserves development that will be remembered as a model,” Arora said.
Speaking on the occasion, AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu expressed gratitude to the party leadership, especially Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, and Punjab President Aman Arora, for entrusting him with the responsibility.
“I thank the leadership from the bottom of my heart for their trust. This by-election comes as a result of destiny, after the unfortunate demise of sitting MLA S. Kashmir Singh Sohal Sahib. But we are determined to honor his legacy through continued service to the people,” said Sandhu.
He added, “Politics is not built in a few days; it takes years of connection and service. Tarn Taran is the land of martyrs and saints, Guru Sahib’s own city. My life’s mission is to serve its people. From expanding health and insurance benefits to resolving red line (lal lakeer) ownership issues and developing new sports infrastructure for youth, I will ensure that every promise made by our government is fulfilled.”
