New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Delhi Police have arrested Air India Express pilot Virendra Sejwal in connection with an alleged assault on a passenger at Indira Gandhi International Airport. The incident reportedly took place on December 19 at Terminal-1, following which the affected passenger filed a formal complaint with the police.

According to the complainant, Ankit Diwan, he was travelling with his seven-year-old daughter and a four-month-old infant. A dispute reportedly broke out over a queue outside the security check area, during which an argument took place between him and the pilot. The verbal altercation allegedly escalated into physical violence.

During the probe, CCTV footage from the airport was reviewed and statements of eyewitnesses were recorded. After preliminary findings supported the allegations, the pilot was summoned for questioning and subsequently arrested. Delhi Police said that legal proceedings are underway and a charge sheet will be filed after completion of the investigation.
