Ahmedabad schools on high alert: 10 institutions receive bomb threats, police launch probe

Ahmedabad (The Uttam Hindu): There was a stir in Ahmedabad, Gujarat today when several renowned schools of the city received bomb threats. This threat was sent simultaneously to around 10 schools through email, after which there was panic among the school administration and parents. As a precautionary measure, students were dismissed with immediate effect and the school premises were evacuated. As soon as the information was received, the local police along with the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDDS), dog squad and fire brigade teams reached the spot and started a thorough search operation.
According to police sources, the threatening email received by the schools had the subject line "B0mB BIast @1:11PM." The email was sent from an ID named "Munro Quickel," raising concerns among security agencies. The prominent schools threatened include prestigious institutions like Maharaja Agrasen, Zeber School, Nirman High School, Divine, and Dev International. School managements immediately alerted the police upon seeing the email, prompting the administration to immediately swing into action.
Given the seriousness of the matter, the Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch has also launched an investigation. Police are using technical surveillance to determine where the email originated and the sender's true motive. Currently, police teams are canvassing schools to ensure security. It's worth noting that similar bomb threats were recently received against schools in Jalandhar, Punjab, which is why agencies are viewing this case as part of a larger pattern or a conspiracy by a mischievous individual.
