Fire in the Sky: Air India Flight Makes Emergency Landing Minutes After Takeoff

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A major aviation scare was narrowly averted on Saturday when an Air India flight from Delhi to Indore was forced to return shortly after takeoff due to a fire alert in one of its engines.
Flight AI2913, which had just taken off from Delhi, received a fire indication from its right engine, prompting the cockpit crew to take swift action. Following standard emergency procedures, the pilot immediately shut down the engine and initiated a priority return to Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Thanks to the crew’s quick response, the aircraft landed safely and without injury to any of the passengers or crew members on board. Air India later confirmed that no one was harmed, and the situation was handled in full compliance with aviation safety protocols.
The airline has grounded the affected aircraft for a detailed technical inspection. In the meantime, arrangements were made to send passengers to Indore on an alternative aircraft, ensuring minimal disruption. “Passenger safety remains our top priority,” Air India said in a statement, assuring that all safety norms were strictly followed throughout the emergency.
