Air India Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Thailand Over Bomb Threat; 156 Onboard Safe

Phuket (The Uttam Hindu) : Air India flight AI-379 made an emergency landing at Phuket International Airport in Thailand today after receiving a bomb threat. The plane had 156 passengers on board and was flying from Phuket to Delhi. News agency Reuters, quoting flight tracker 'Flytrader24', informed that this Air India flight took off from Phuket airport at 9:30 am Indian time (2:30 pm local time).

Shortly after takeoff, the plane made a large circle over the Andaman Sea and landed safely in Phuket about 20 minutes later. Authorities have confirmed that all passengers and crew members on board the plane are safe and no one was injured.

Thailand's 'Nation Thailand' reported that the Phuket Airport Administration activated the Airport Contingency Plan (ACP) as soon as the bomb threat was received. Airport officials said that all necessary protective measures have been taken in connection with the threat and more information will be shared when it is received.
