BSP supremo Mayawati has reappointed Akash Anand as the party's national coordinator, restoring his previous responsibilities and welcoming his return to the organisation.

Lucknow (The Uttam Hindu): Akash Anand has returned to the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). BSP supremo Mayawati on Monday appointed him as the party's national coordinator and restored the responsibilities he had previously been given. Announcing the decision on social media platform X, Mayawati said the decision was taken after extensive deliberations in the interest of the party and the movement.
Mayawati expressed hope that following Akash Anand's father-in-law Ashok Siddharth's retirement from active politics, the party's functioning would now continue smoothly and there would be no need for repeated changes in the organisation. However, she also said that much would depend on Akash Anand's behaviour and working style.
Leaders, including Ishan Anand, gave their consent
Mayawati said that most party leaders had expressed a positive opinion about Akash Anand's return to the party. She said that while accepting their request to give him another opportunity to work in the party with his previous responsibilities, his father Anand Kumar and younger brother Ishan Anand also gave their consent.
She said that changes had been seen in Akash Anand's personality and working style in recent times. She cited a post he recently shared on X as evidence of this change, which had generated considerable discussion.
Mayawati expresses hope over organisational changes
Mayawati said that certain circumstances had emerged in recent days regarding Akash Anand's role, which had led to several important changes in the party organisation. Later, his father-in-law Ashok Siddharth also had to retire from active politics.
