Amit Shah warns in Lok Sabha: 'Whoever takes up arms will face consequences' under Modi govt
Shah pointed out that over 10,000 militants have laid down arms and returned to civilian life under the current government.

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the Lok Sabha during the ongoing discussion on efforts to free the country from Left Wing Extremism.
Amit Shah said that first of all I want to thank the House on behalf of the population living in the entire area known as Red Corridor, which included 12 states and 70 percent of the land area.
The Home Minister said that today Naxalism has almost been eradicated from Bastar. A campaign was launched to build schools in every village in Bastar. A campaign was launched to open ration shops in every village in Bastar. I just want to ask those who are asking why tribals haven't seen development yet? They should explain what they have done in the last 70 years.
He said that after Narendra Modi's government came to power in 2014, every poor person in the country got a house, gas, pure drinking water, health insurance up to Rs 5 lakh, 5 kg free grain per person per month... but why were these people of Bastar left out?
Amit Shah said, "I am saying this because the truth is being denied. The people of Bastar were left behind because of the shadow of Red Terror, and therefore, development did not reach there. Today, under the Modi government, that shadow has been removed, and that is why Bastar is developing. This is Narendra Modi's government; anyone who takes up arms will be held accountable."
He said, "I want to ask, you ruled for 60 out of 75 years, why have tribals remained deprived of development? Now Narendra Modi is leading the development of tribals."
He said that for 60 years you (Congress) did not provide them houses, did not provide water, did not build schools, did not allow them to avail bank facilities, so first look within yourself and see who is the culprit.
