Army fires at Pakistani drones spotted along LoC in J&K's Samba, Rajouri and Poonch

Jammu (The Uttam Hindu) : Security agencies are on high alert following a sudden increase in drone activity near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. Incidents of Pakistani drone sightings in various border areas have raised concerns among security agencies. The Indian Army has retaliated by targeting drones at several locations.
Security officials say these incidents point to a larger conspiracy from across the border. Significantly, this drone activity comes so soon after the weapons consignment dropped in Samba a day earlier.
Drones sighted in Rajouri, Samba and Poonch
According to officials, a drone was spotted over Gania-Kalsian village in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district. Subsequently, another drone was sighted in the Khabbar village (Teriyath) area of Rajouri. A drone-like object was also seen hovering for several minutes over Chak Babaral village in the Ramgarh sector of Samba district. Drone-like activity was also recorded near the Line of Control in the Mankot sector of Poonch district.
The Indian Army responded swiftly in the Nowshera sector immediately after the drone was spotted. The Indian Army fired MMG and LMG weapons to try to shoot down the drone. This clearly demonstrates the Army's high alertness to any infiltration or suspicious activity.
The presence of drones in the Ramgarh sector of Samba is considered more serious because a day earlier, a consignment of weapons was dropped in the same area using a drone. During a search operation, the BSF recovered pistols, magazines, Chinese grenades, and other incriminating material.
Suspected of a drone conspiracy
the continuous drone activity in three different sectors has made it clear that Pakistan is intensifying its efforts to deliver weapons and ammunition via drones. Security agencies believe that after failing to prevent conventional infiltration, drones are now being used as a new weapon. Currently, high alert is in place along the entire border area, and surveillance has been intensified.
