Srinagar (The Uttam Hindu) - A tragic road accident occurred on Thursday in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. An army Casper vehicle travelling on Bhaderwah-Chamba road went out of control and fell into a deep gorge. Four soldiers have been confirmed martyred in this accident, while 12 other soldiers are reported to be injured. According to information, this vehicle was passing through Doda and the condition of the road on which this accident occurred is already said to be very bad. During the accident, the Casper vehicle fell into a 200 feet deep gorge.


Rescue

and relief teams from the Army, police, and local administration arrived at the scene upon receiving information about the incident. The depth of the ravine and the difficult terrain posed significant challenges, but the rescue effort continued at a rapid pace.


Three soldiers are in critical condition.

According to an officer, the cause of the accident is currently unclear. Initial investigations suggest the vehicle skidded off the road. All the injured were evacuated from the scene and taken to a nearby medical center, where three soldiers are reported to be in critical condition.


The Army has expressed deep condolences and paid tribute to the martyred soldiers. An investigation into the cause of the accident has also been ordered. Poor roads in the inaccessible mountainous region have once again raised questions about safety and infrastructure.
