India Shares Border with Tibet, Not China: Arunachal CM's Bold Statement

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu has replied to China in its own language. CM Pema Khandu said in an interview that Arunachal Pradesh shares its border with Tibet and not with China. Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu has given a diplomatic twist to this fact.
We share border with Tibet…not with China, Arunachal CM shows mirror to Beijing : In an interview, CM Pema Khandu has given this statement when Tibet is in the news on the pretext of Dalai Lama. Apart from this, China often keeps staking its illegal, baseless claim on Arunachal Pradesh. To confirm this claim, China unilaterally keeps changing the names of many areas in this region. During the interview, when he was told that Arunachal Pradesh shares a 1200 km border with China, he immediately interrupted and said, 'Let me correct you, we share the border with Tibet and not with China.'
He further said that if you look at the map, the truth is that even the Indian state does not share the border with China directly, our border is only with Tibet. It is true that in 1950 China came there and forcefully occupied Tibet, this cannot be denied, this is a different matter, officially Tibet is now under China. This cannot be denied. But we basically share the border with Tibet.
Khandu said historical facts confirm that this was the Indo-Tibetan border and cited the 1914 Shimla Conference attended by representatives of British India, China and Tibet. On China's habit of giving its own names to many places in Arunachal Pradesh, he said the neighbouring country had changed the names of places not once but five times.
He said, I think the last time they renamed many places in Arunachal Pradesh… If I am not wrong, I think this was their fifth attempt overall. So it is not a surprise for us. We know China's habit, and I think officially the Ministry of External Affairs has dealt with it and responded to them.
