Avalanche in Kedarnath after glacier breaks from mountain, video goes viral

Kedarnath (The Uttam Hindu)- Life has been disrupted due to continuous rain in Uttarakhand. At the same time, incidents of glacier breaking on the hill behind the Kedarnath temple are increasing continuously, the video of which has also surfaced. It is seen in the video that the glacier is breaking and falling down. There has been no damage of any kind due to this incident.

Chorabari in Kedarnath is the same area of the Himalayas where a terrible disaster struck in 2013. A natural lake had formed in Chorabari. There was a cloudburst and heavy rains occurred and then the lake broke and submerged the lower areas, taking thousands of lives.

Last year also, many such incidents were reported, on which environmentalists have expressed deep concern and called it an ominous sign for the future. When glaciers break off from the mountain and start falling down, it is a warning. Avalanches on snowy mountains are not a new thing, but their increasing number is a matter of concern. Due to the terrible floods in the year 2013 and the cloudburst in Kedarnath, everything was destroyed and it took a long time to restore normal life. This harshness of the weather and melting of glaciers is not just a natural phenomenon, but the result of our tampering with nature.
