Baba Mahakal adorned with moon and tripund using bhang, watch live video darshan, every wish will be fulfilled

Ujjain (The Uttam Hindu): A spiritually uplifting scene was witnessed during the Bhasma Aarti at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple early Monday morning on the Tritiya Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the Paush month. As the temple doors opened at around 4 am, thousands of devotees gathered to have divine darshan of Baba Mahakal. Devotees had been standing in long queues since late night to witness the sacred ritual, while chants of “Jai Shri Mahakal” echoed throughout the temple परिसर.

Special adornment with bhang, abhishek with panchamrit

All deities seated in the sanctum were worshipped as per rituals. Lord Mahakal was given a ceremonial abhishek using water, milk, curd, ghee, sugar-based panchamrit, and fruit juices. With the sound of the first ghanta, sacred water was offered while chanting “Hari Om.” After the puja, Baba Mahakal was beautifully adorned with bhang, followed by kapoor aarti, and then adorned with a new crown.

Bhasma offering and divine form

The main highlight of the Bhasma Aarti was the offering of sacred ash to the Shivling by the Mahanirvani Akhada. In today’s adornment, Baba Mahakal’s forehead was decorated with the moon and tripund, and he was also adorned with a mundmala. As per belief, after the bhasma offering, Lord Mahakal appears before devotees in a divine, manifest form.

Devotees receive spiritual blessings

Thousands of devotees witnessed the divine and rare darshan of Baba Mahakal in his bhasma-adorned form. Filled with devotion and faith, devotees raised their hands in reverence and chanted Baba Mahakal’s name, transforming the entire city into an atmosphere of deep spirituality and devotion.
